Looking Back: February 2012

Finally! I have made it to February! Exciting! Well, as I was looking back, we had a lot of fun in February. Of course our most fun memory was Valentine's Day! I really wanted to go out for dinner, so we asked Scott's parents to watch Alexander. They agreed to come to the house and we made reservations for a local Italian restaurant called Toscano. After getting the in-laws to agree to come for dinner, I decided that it would be fun to still make Valentine's Day special for them. So, I prepared a candlelit dinner for them. I made homemade lasagna, garlic bread and salad. Then I got some sparkling cider for them to enjoy. I preset the table so that there were even salad forks! Then, I decorated the table with cut out hearts and long-stemmed candles. I set out the salads and the pan of lasagna and the bread. Oh! I also bought cheesecake for dessert! Then we dimmed the lights and turned on some romantic music on the i-pod. I have to say, I had more fun planning dinner for them, than planning our dinner. It was super sweet of them to watch Alexander for us though. We enjoyed a nice meal, and then gave each other gifts. Scott got me some pretty daisies and a ring. I got him some things off his Amazon wish list that he had been wanting (earphones and magic cards). Alexander got a box of hugs and kisses (the candies) for Scott. He is just so thoughtful! Anyway, the night turned out pretty special indeed. A few weeks later, after a pretty rough day, Scott came home (not knowing my day had been tough) with a dozen roses! It made everything all better. He said he wanted to get me roses for Valentine's Day but the store he went to was all sold out. It was so sweet of him to go out of his way to get them for me a few weeks later :) Below are a few Valentine's pictures of Alexander:

One of the fun things we did with Alexander during February was take him to the local aquarium in Sandy. It was so fun seeing his reactions as he looked at the fish, and it was fun for Scott and I to get out of the house. We have since decided to get a two-year pass so we can go whenever we want. I actually went again with my friend the other day. Here are some fun pictures of us at the aquarium:

Another fun thing that happened this month was that Alexander got his very first balloon! We were visiting the small post office inside Harmon's and the cashier fell in love with Alexander and insisted he get a balloon. Well, he loved it so much more than I thought! Here are a few pictures of him playing with his balloon:

Alexander also perfected sitting up! He can play with his toys while sitting up and loves it! Most of the time he will avoid being on his belly because he is so excited that he can play with his toys while sitting. He loves playing with balls while sitting up, which is super exciting for me! We also moved him into a big boy inflatable ducky tub since he can sit up now. He is so cute in it and really loves playing with his toys in the bathtub. Here are a few pictures of him playing with toys while sitting up:

Alexander has also been enjoying new flavors of foods. It was really in the month of February that we introduced him to different flavors of foods like peas, sweet potatoes and carrots. Below are some cut pictures of him enjoying food:

So many great things really did happen in February! Another super exciting thing that happened was that Alexander got his first tooth, which was followed by his second tooth only five days later! So he officially has two teeth! Below is a picture of his teeth (they are on the bottom):

Okay, so to finish this month, I thought I would just add a couple fun pictures of us with him. Here they are:

Well, that is all for now! Tune in next time for something completely new! So excited :)
