St. Paddy's Day Fun

This year's St. Patrick's Day was seriously the best one yet! It fell on a Saturday, which gave us lots of time to make a whole day out of it. Scott is really into dying his hair fun colors and wanted to dye his hair green. This inspired me to get cute green hair extensions and a few other fun things to make us look festive. Unfortunately, Scott couldn't find any green hair dye, so he settled with green face paint. The morning of St. Patrick's Day, we had tons of fun getting all decked out in green. I even painted my toes green! This was a HUGE accomplishment because it has been months since I have had the time to paint my toes. Anyway, here are some pictures of us in our St. Paddy's Day best:

After getting all decked out in green, we promptly prepared a green breakfast. For all those environmentalist out there, I don't mean a breakfast that was good for the planet, just green in the sense of the color! We had an idea from our Dr. Seuss calendar to make green eggs and ham for breakfast. We decided to invite Russ, Diane and Alliyah to join us. They couldn't join us until lunch time, so it turned into a brunch! We got more creative and made green eggs, green hash browns, mixed fruit with some green apples and green melon, and bacon. I guess we could have turned the bacon green, but Scott was a bit too nervous too try that out. Anyway, it was a lot of fun! Below are some pictures and descriptions of how we made the breakfast:

For our green eggs, we simply whisked eggs up with some
green food coloring, cheese, salt and pepper. Then we
cooked them up! It was delish!

I just threw a whole bunch of fresh fruit in a bowl. We had
pineapple, banana, honeydew and green apples!

For the green hash browns, we shredded the potatoes,
rinsed them off in water and drained them, added some
salt, garlic, pepper, parmesan cheese and food coloring,
and then fried them! It was the first time we made homemade
hash browns and they were super yummy!

Bacon...pretty self explanatory...just grease and yumminess!

My plate of yummy food. Next time, I think we will actually
do ham. We were just trying to save money and already had
the bacon. Oh, and next time I will have to come up with a
yummy green juice too!

After brunch, Scott sister, Amy, joined us and we all headed out to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy. The aquarium was much busier than we expected, but we still had tons of fun. Below are some pictures of our fun at the aquarium:

After the fun at the aquarium, we were exhausted and promptly headed home for a nice long nap. It was great! Our St. Patrick's Day was super fun and we have decided that this is the start of a tradition! From this moment on, we plan to have a yummy green themed meal every St. Patrick's Day! Well, that is all for now! Tune in next time, for lots more fun adventures!
