Looking Back: The Start of Our Little Family

Well, we are indeed almost caught up! For this post, I just wanted to highlight a few fun things that have happened since Alexander was born, plus add some fun pictures of him all cute and little. I hope you enjoy them!

This is a picture of Alexander inside a cute pacifier balloon that Scott's parents, Russ and Diane, got for us. The day we came home from the hospital, they came to visit us. It was so nice to see them. We were blessed by the support of so many after Alexander was born. The Relief Society came and brought us several meals, as well as Scott's parents. I have to admit, I thought I would be feeling awful after giving birth, but I recovered quite well. It took everything in me not to go to church the first Sunday after we were home (Alexander would have been 3 days old). Everyone insisted that I stay home and rest. But needless to say, we were back at church the next week, and I started going on walks with the little guy shortly after that.
I've included this picture because it was one of Scott's favorite ways to hold Alexander. He was so little he would just curl up in Scott's lap. Now he is too big to do that, but it is an adorable picture!

Below are just a few fun pictures of when Alexander was really little. These were all taken within the first month or so:

Alexander had his baby blessing only a few weeks after he was born. Scott's brother, Daniel, was in town and we thought it might be fun for him to be a part of the blessing. On the left is a picture of everyone who attended the blessing. From left to right, Russ (Scott's Dad), Diane (Scott's Mom), Amy (Scott's Sister), Alliyah (Scott's cousin's daughter), Me, Scott, Grandpa and Grandma Thorne (Scott's grandparents), Daniel (Scott's brother), and Andy (Scott's best friend). It was great to have so many people there to celebrate this special day. Below are a few more pictures of his baby blessing and that special day!

One of our constant jokes is that Alexander is "Daddy's little action figure and Mommy's little doll." We would always say this because when Alexander was super little, Scott could move his arms to do silly things or his mouth to make it look like he was saying something. On the other hand, Virginia spent a lot of time dressing up her cute little man. Here are some pictures of Alexander all dressed up:

When Alexander was one month old, Virginia's family came to see him. First her Mom, Gloria, and brother, Robert came, and then a week later her Aunt Debbie came to visit. While they were here they bought some fun new toys for the little guy, toured temple square and just had fun together. Here are some pictures from their visits:

Summer quickly passed since Alexander was born in August. But we did manage to find him some cute summer wear just in case it decided to hang around. Check these ones out:

Well, as many of you know, babies love their toys! And Mommas love to be able to have things that can help entertain them, especially in the beginning when their sleep is pretty much non-existent. Here are a few cute pictures of the little guy and his toys:

This post is getting much longer than I anticipated, so I guess we will just share our first family photos and then call it quits. As you can see from the above photos, Alexander was great at taking pictures with his eyes open...that is...until we went to take professional photos. We tried everything to get him to be awake for his photos, but it just didn't happen. Well, at least we can still see how cute and little he was. These photos were taken when he was only one month old:

Well, there is still so much more to share...so I guess tune in next time for holiday memories with Alexander :)
