Looking back: The Honeymoon

Scott and Virginia stayed in Provo for a few nights and then headed to Hawaii for their honeymoon. They stayed in a honeymoon suite in Provo, and though it was expensive, it was worth every penny! It had a kitchen, a living room, a huge bedroom, and a huge bathroom. It was fun spending a few days lounging around and relaxing after such a busy wedding day.

Hawaii was marvelous of course! They had gotten word from a friend that they shouldn't rent a car because you could easily get anywhere on a bus. Looking back, they wished they had rented a car because it would have made sight-seeing a little easier, but they still made the best of it. They stayed in a hotel on Waikiki Beach. The hotel really was the perfect location because there were tons of close restaurants and shops. They were able to window shop, pick up a few souvenirs and just relax on the beach. Virginia even taught Scott how to boogey board while there!

Virginia has family that lives in Hawaii on the same island they visited, so one of the days, Scott and Virginia were able to have a nice ham dinner with them and tour the north side of the island. It was a blast, and that part of the island was gorgeous. Though, it wasn't their original plan to visit family on their honeymoon, they had a lot more fun with them than they could have imagined!

One of the days they took a long bus ride to a flea-market place, called the Swat Meet, and got a ton of fun souvenirs. They even got two really pretty fans that hang on the wall, and a cute little sign that says "Please remove your slippers." It is fun to think about those fun days when they see these items hanging in their home.

Scott and Virginia went to Cold Stone on their first date, so it was a treat to discover their was a Cold Stone just around the corner from their hotel. They probably ate there every other day or so just to relive their first date. It still remains one of their very favorite places to go.

Just like most vacations, the honeymoon flew by far too quickly. Then it was back home and off to their reception in Washington. But that is another story! Tune in next time for more wedding memories.
